The simple act of implanting a cochlear device could change Hayyan’s life forever. Without the surgery, he won’t be able to hear his surroundings, which will hinder his ability to learn and communicate. His silence has shattered his family. He awaits cochlear implant surgery; therefore, we urge you to donate and give him the opportunity to function well in life.

Four-year-old Hayyan Ali, a resident of Jhelum, has been suffering from congenital sensorineural hearing loss. His parents first noticed something was wrong when he was one year old and wasn’t responding to their voices. His parents took him to the local hospital, where his tests were done. Upon consultation, he was diagnosed with sensorineural deafness. The doctor advised him to undergo cochlear implant surgery. To restore hearing, a cochlear implant uses electrical stimulation of the cochlear nerve. There are external and internal components to the implant. The external part is attached behind the ear. It processes the sounds with a microphone before sending them to the implant inside the body.

Hayyan lives with his parents and two siblings. His father is the only source of income for the family, earning a monthly salary of PKR 25,000. Sadly, they cannot afford the surgery, and Hayyan’s father is seeking financial assistance. He expressed his distress, saying:

“My heart is heavy with worry, knowing that my child may miss out on crucial opportunities in life due to my inability to gather enough funds for his cochlear implant surgery. I earnestly appeal to you, to please come forward and make a donation today, ensuring that my child receives the vital medical treatment he needs and flourishes in the years to come.”
