In the remote hilly village of Battagram, hope faded amidst the struggles of a deserving family. Their four-year-old daughter, Salma, had been silently suffering from profound hearing loss since birth. Her parents, burdened with helplessness, are struggling to visit different hospitals to find a solution to restore hearing for their daughter.

Salma’s parents noticed that their daughter was not responding to surrounding sounds and voices at the age of two.  Determined to seek medical assistance, they traveled to the nearest hospital, their hearts heavy with worry. The diagnosis confirmed their worst fears—Salma needed a hearing device, a costly solution that seemed unattainable for a family living in the depths of financial hardship.

With no other option, Salma’s parents clung to a flicker of hope offered by a compassionate doctor who recommended a cochlear implant—an innovative treatment that could potentially restore their daughter’s hearing. It was a lifeline they desperately yearned for, but their financial condition pushed it further out of reach.

Salma’s family resided in a small house. Her father, the sole earner, struggled to make ends meet with a meager income of just PKR 12,000. Every month, the weight of utility bills, amounting to 5,000, and an overwhelming loan of PKR 50,000 threatened to crush their spirits. The thought of affording Salma’s surgical expenses seemed like an impossible dream.

” It is a daily battle to put food on the table for my family,” Salma’s father revealed, his voice laden with emotion. “The burden of utility bills and a loan weighs heavily on my shoulders. I am seeking your support in providing my daughter with the gift of hearing.”
