Muhammad Zahid's Story

Muhammad Zahid, a 29-year-old man from Lahore, has been battling constant pain for the past two years. His life has been overshadowed by the pain and discomfort in both of his hips. Walking, standing, or even performing basic daily tasks has become an overwhelming challenge and he uses crutches while walking. After consulting a doctor, Zahid underwent a series of tests including an X-ray which revealed the severity of his condition. He was diagnosed with Bilateral Avascular Necrosis (AVN) of the hips, a condition where the bone tissue in both hip joints begins to die due to poor blood supply. The doctor recommended Bilateral Total Hip Replacement surgery to restore his ability to move and alleviate the constant pain.

Zahid’s right hip replacement surgery was successfully performed through Transparent Hands in January 2025. Now, his left hip joint is symptomatic and needs total hip replacement surgery. However, Zahid can’t afford the surgery.

If his condition is left untreated, he may experience permanent loss of movement at the hip joint, making him unable to stand, sit, and walk.

Zahid’s life has come to a standstill due to his illness. He is unemployed and depends on his uncle, with whom he has lived since childhood after the tragic death of his parents. His uncle, a daily wage laborer, is the sole breadwinner in their household, making only PKR 25,000 per month. With a family to support and limited resources, Zahid’s uncle is unable to afford the high cost of the surgery required for Zahid’s left hip. Zahid’s condition continues to deteriorate, leaving him unable to care for his own family and struggling with daily pain.  During this challenging time, Zahid’s wife contacted Transparent Hands once again and asked for help.

Zahid’s wife said in despair:

“We are living in a constant state of worry and helplessness. All I want is for him to be able to walk again and live a pain-free life. But without surgery, there is no hope. We can’t afford this surgery, and we need your help.”

This is a crucial moment for Zahid. Without the surgery, he will be unable to regain his mobility, and his quality of life will continue to decline. Your support is his last hope. Let’s join hands to ensure Zahid receives the life-changing surgery. Your kindness can make all the difference in his future. Donate now!

Muhammad Zahid's Story

Muhammad Zahid, a 29-year-old man from Lahore, had been suffering from pain in both of his hip joints for the past two years. He was unable to perform his routine tasks independently, and he used crutches while walking. Worried about his condition, he visited a doctor at a local hospital, who performed an X-ray and ran necessary medical tests. Zahid was diagnosed with Bilateral Avascular Necrosis (AVN) of the hips. Through Transparent Hands, Zahid underwent right-sided hip replacement surgery in January 2025. To relieve his pain and restore his independence, the doctor advised left-sided Total Hip Replacement Surgery. However, the cost of the surgery was overwhelming for his family.

Due to his condition, Zahid is currently unemployed. Since the death of his parents, he has been living with his uncle. His uncle is the sole breadwinner of the household, working as a daily wage laborer and bringing in just PKR 25,000 per month. This income is insufficient to cover the living expenses of five family members. After covering their essentials, they were left with nothing to set aside for Zahid’s surgery. During this time of need, they contacted Transparent Hands and asked for assistance. Moved by their plea, we registered his case.

On July 1, 2025, Zahid was admitted to Pakistan Society for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled (PSRD). His left-sided Total Hip Replacement Surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Saleem Bashir on July 2, 2025. Zahid was discharged in stable condition on July 4, 2025.

The procedure was carried out without complications, and Zahid is now on the road to recovery. He is regaining strength and independence in his movements.

Zahid said with tears of happiness in his eyes:

“I am grateful to you for helping me when I had lost hope. Your generosity gave me the chance to walk again and live without constant pain. I sincerely thank you for supporting me and changing my life.”

After the surgery, Zahid is gradually leaving behind the crutches that once defined his daily routine.

He now looks forward to returning to a more active and independent life. Zahid and his family extend their heartfelt gratitude to you. Your kindness made his healing possible.
