Awais Ismail Khan, aged 4 years, a resident of lower deer, was suffering from hearing loss since his childhood. His parents came to know about their son’s condition when he did not respond to his parents’ voices. This happened when he was one years old. For this purpose, his parents took him to the hospital for checkup. After several tests, the doctor diagnosed him with sensorineural hearing loss. The doctor advised him of the cochlear implant. Now, cochlear implant surgery is the only option left for a permanent cure. A cochlear implant is a surgically implanted neuroprosthetic device that will give Awais Ismail Khan a modified sense of sound.
His father is a driver and is the only one to feed the house. His monthly income is PKR. 10,000. With this mere income, his father cannot afford the surgery.

Five-year-old Awais, a resident of Malakand, KPK, had sensorineural hearing loss since birth. His parents learned about his condition when he was a year old and took him to a local hospital. The doctor evaluated him and advised Cochlear Implant Surgery. He was admitted to the National Hospital, Lahore, where Dr.Naveed performed the operation to install the internal component of the cochlear implant successfully on 4-06-2022. Awais was discharged after one day of stay in the hospital. After six weeks, the external component of his cochlear implant was installed. Awais is discovering new sounds every day.
