Aslam Rano Khan's Story

Aslam Rano Khan, a 22-year-old man from Jamshoro, has been struggling with nasal blockage, frequent sinus infections, sore throat, and headaches for the past year. His condition has made it difficult for him to breathe comfortably and carry out his daily responsibilities. Concerned about these ongoing symptoms, he visited a doctor, who advised him to undergo laboratory investigations. After reviewing the test results, the doctor diagnosed him with a Deviated Nasal Septum (DNS). It occurs when the wall separating the nasal passages is displaced, leading to breathing difficulties and recurring infections. To relieve his symptoms and restore normal breathing, the doctor has recommended septoplasty. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is beyond his financial means. Untreated DNS can lead to nasal obstruction, recurrent sinus infections, frequent sore throats, chronic headaches, disturbed sleep, and difficulty in breathing through the nose. Timely surgical treatment can help prevent these complications and significantly improve his quality of life.

Aslam works as a private security guard and earns only PKR 25,000 per month. He is the sole earning member of his family and supports his wife with this modest income. Aslam is also among the many people whose homes were completely destroyed during the floods. Although an NGO later provided his family with a single-room shelter, his limited earnings are only enough to cover their daily needs and utility expenses. As a result, affording the recommended surgery is impossible for him.

Aslam shared his heartfelt plea as follows: “

For the past year, I have been living with this illness that affects my work and routine tasks. I am trying my best to rebuild my life after losing my home, but my income is only enough to meet our basic needs. I need your help to undergo this surgery.”
