Muhammad Ahmad's Story

Sixteen-year-old Muhammad Ahmad from Lahore is living with pain and stiffness in both feet. Since childhood, he has struggled with a waddling gait and deformity in both feet, making it difficult to walk comfortably or carry out everyday activities. He works as a laborer to help support his family, but his worsening condition has made even simple movements painful. Hoping to find relief, he visited a doctor for a detailed evaluation. After the necessary examinations, the doctor diagnosed him with Bilateral Planovalgus. Bilateral planovalgus, commonly known as flatfoot deformity, causes the feet to lose their natural arch resulting in painful walk. To relieve his symptoms and improve his mobility, the doctor has recommended Bilateral Triple Fusion surgery. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is far beyond his family’s financial reach. Without the recommended surgery, Ahmad’s condition may continue to worsen. The deformity and stiffness can lead to increasing pain, reduced mobility, difficulty walking, and progressive joint damage.

Ahmad works as a daily wage laborer and lives with his parents and eight other family members in a rented home in Lahore. His parents also work as laborers, and together the family’s three earning members bring home approximately PKR 44,000 per month. This modest income is used to support a household of eleven people and cover utility bills of PKR 3,000, leaving no savings for the costly surgical treatment. Given their financial circumstances, affording Ahmad’s surgery is impossible for the family.

Ahmad’s parents shared their heartfelt plea as follows:

“Since childhood, our son has struggled to walk and experiences pain. Watching him work despite his condition breaks our hearts. Kindly help our son undergo this much-needed surgery.”

Ahmad has spent his childhood and teenage years struggling with a condition that limits his mobility and affects his daily life.
