Ali Hassan, 5 years old, a resident of Daska has suffered from sensorineural hearing loss since birth. His parents noticed his unresponsiveness to the loudest of sounds and took him for a check-up. They found out that he cannot hear. His sister also suffered from this disease.
Ali Hassan was brought to the hospital and after evaluation, the doctors diagnosed him with sensorineural hearing loss and advised him to get a cochlear implant. In a cochlear implant, an electronic device is installed surgically that helps the patient to develop a sense of sound.
Ali Hassan lives in a rental house. His father is the only breadwinner of the family with 4 persons to feed. He has a mere income of PKR. 17,000 which he earns by working in a general store. He cannot afford the expenses of his son’s cochlear implant surgery. His father narrates their ordeal in the following words.
“The future of my son is in your hands. I cannot afford his surgery. But I have my trust in Transparent Hands. I hope that they will help my son get his life back on track.”

Five-year-old Ali Hassan, a resident of Sialkot, had sensorineural hearing loss since birth. The doctor advised cochlear implant surgery upon consultation. He was admitted to National Hospital, Lahore, where Dr. Naveed Aslam performed his operation on 29-07-2022. The doctor fixed the internal component of the cochlear implant and the surgery was successful. He was discharged after one day of stay in the hospital. The external component of his cochlear implant was fixed after a few weeks. He has gained the ability to hear.
