Misal Khan's Story

Misal Khan, a 75-year-old resident of Mardan, feels pain in his right knee every time he walks due to osteoarthritis. He is financially dependent on his son who cannot afford his father’s surgical expenses due to financial constraints. The pain is becoming unbearable, so please donate for Misal’s Knee Arthroplasty.

Misal Khan has been suffering from right knee osteoarthritis for the last five years. Osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee occurs when the cartilage in a knee joint breaks down. Then, the knee bones rub together, resulting in friction, pain, stiffness, and swelling. Over the years, his knee pain and swelling have worsened. His son took him to a local hospital. After running some diagnostic tests and a thorough evaluation, the doctor advised him to undergo right knee arthroplasty. It is a surgical procedure to resurface a knee affected by arthritis. The surgeon uses metal and plastic parts to cap the ends of the bones that form the knee joint, along with the kneecap.

He lives in a small house with a big family, which includes his wife, two children, a daughter-in-law, and five grandchildren. His son is a laborer and earns only PKR 18,000. With a meager income and a large family to support, his son cannot afford the hefty cost of this orthopedic surgery. Misal Khan said with teary eyes:

“I feel helpless when I cannot even manage my own basic tasks due to the knee pain and stiffness. I hope someone will hear my desperate request and donate generously for my surgery.”

His son reached out to Transparent Hands and registered his father’s case. You can help us provide him with the treatment he needs by contributing as much as you can for his knee surgery. Your donation is the only thing that can bring hope to Misal’s life. We request you to donate for Misal’s Knee Arthroplasty without any delay.
