Yousaf Khan's Story

Youaf Khan, 38 years old, started suffering from hearing loss about a year ago. He visited several ENT doctors for checkup near Sialkot but their advice did not resolve Yousaf’s problem; his hearing kept getting worse. He is diagnosed to have sensorineural hearing loss. Yousaf used a hearing aid for some time but unfortunately, his condition has progressed really far and he is barely able to hear anymore. Experts in Lahore have recommended him to get a cochlear implant when permissible.

Yousaf lives in a small house near Sialkot with his wife and 2 children. Working as a daily wager, he earns 13,000-16,000 PKR/month. Ever since his hearing started declining in the past year, his work life has been affected too. Since it is difficult for him to communicate at his job, he has had to take time off.

“I could barely hear what my boss or my colleagues were saying to me. They had to shout and I still couldn’t make it out. It was messing up my productivity and instead of putting them in a position of letting me go, I took time off myself. I wish to have my hearing back as soon as possible because if I cannot work, my family will go hungry.” – Yousaf Khan

Yousaf has requested your help in getting his hearing ability back. Help this young father turn his life back to normal for his family.

Please donate for his cochlear implant.

Yousaf Khan's Story

Muhammad Yousaf Khan, aged 38 years, suffered from a stroke after which he lost his sense of hearing. The ENT specialist who examined him advised a cochlear implant for him. Consequently, Yousaf was referred to National Hospital & Medical Center and a cochlear implant was installed in his right ear under the supervision of Dr. Naveed Aslam on 22.03.2021. He stayed in the hospital for one day and was discharged in a satisfactory condition. However this was not the end of his procedure. He was to visit soon for the placement of the external component of the device. For this purpose he visited National Hospital again on 03.05.2021 where the external component of the device was placed. He was discharged the same day. Muhammad Yousaf Khan will start taking his appointments with the speech therapist very soon. Gradually, over the period of a few months, the volume of his component will be adjusted after which he will be able to hear normally. Yousaf is grateful to be able to hear once again
