Areeba Asghar's
Story
Meet Areeba Asghar, a 21-year-old woman from Kabirwala, Khanewal, who lost most of her right arm after a roadside accident four months ago. The crush injury was so severe that, as a life-saving measure, doctors performed a right above-elbow amputation. Everyday tasks that once felt ordinary now take more time and effort, because she no longer has a right arm to help her through the day. After evaluating her condition, the doctor advised an elbow disarticulation prosthesis, an artificial arm fitted after amputation at the elbow, so she can return to daily work with more independence. Unfortunately, her family cannot afford the prosthesis. Without the recommended prosthesis, Areeba will remain without a right arm. She will keep struggling with ordinary tasks, and the chance to manage her days with as much independence as possible will stay out of reach.
Areeba lives with her parents and three siblings. Her father is an employee of a private company and the household’s sole earner. He supports nine family members with his earnings. They live in a modest home. One salary must stretch across the household expenses of nine people. After covering those needs, the family cannot afford Areeba’s prosthesis.
Areeba shared her heartfelt plea as follows:
“Every morning I look at the space where my right arm used to be, and it still does not feel real. I face many challenges every day. An artificial arm will change my life. Please do not let me spend the rest of my years waiting to feel whole.”
Areeba is young, and she has already faced many hardships. A prosthesis cannot undo what happened, but it can improve her quality of life.
Please donate or give Sadaqah so she can receive this artificial arm.
