Ayesha Shahid's Story

Ayesha Shahid, a 31-year-old woman from Lahore, is 33 weeks pregnant and preparing to welcome her third child. Having previously delivered both of her children through C-sections and currently managing Pregnancy-Induced Hypertension (PIH), she recently visited the hospital for a routine medical checkup. After evaluating her condition and reviewing her medical history, the doctor advised an Elective Lower Segment Caesarean Section (LSCS) to ensure the safe delivery of her baby. Unfortunately, the cost of the procedure is beyond her family’s financial means. Without the recommended C-section, both Ayesha and her baby may face serious health risks. Women with a history of multiple C-sections and PIH are at increased risk of uterine rupture, excessive bleeding, severe hypertension, and complications during childbirth. Delaying or avoiding the recommended procedure may endanger the health of both the mother and baby.

Ayesha is a housewife and lives with her husband and five family members in a modest home in Muhalla Nasir Colony, Lahore. Her husband works as a rider, and her mother-in-law works as a housemaid. Together, they earn approximately PKR 50,000 per month. This modest income is used to support the household, including monthly educational expenses of PKR 6,000 and utility bills of PKR 10,000. After meeting these essential expenses, there is nothing left to afford Ayesha’s C-section.

Ayesha shared her heartfelt plea as follows:

“My greatest wish is to safely welcome my baby into this world and continue taking care of my children. My husband and mother-in-law work hard every day, but their combined income is barely enough to cover our household expenses. Kindly help me receive this C-section so my baby and I can remain safe and healthy.”
