Muhammad Dilbar's Story

Muhammad Dilbar, a 17-year-old boy from Dera Ghazi Khan, has spent his entire life struggling to breathe. While other boys of his age play sports, Dilbar faces constant breathlessness and chest discomfort even with mild physical activity. Even simple tasks like walking a short distance or climbing a few steps leave him gasping for air. Hoping for a cure, his family took him to a local hospital. After performing a thorough check-up, the doctor diagnosed Dilbar with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a severe congenital heart defect that restricts oxygen flow to the body. To save his life, the doctor has advised open-heart surgery for total correction. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is out of his financial capacity.

Without this surgery, his symptoms will become more critical. It may increase his risk of heart failure and life-threatening complications. Every day without treatment brings new dangers, and his family fears they may lose him if they cannot arrange the surgery in time.

Dilbar’s family lives with his parents and five siblings in a house provided by his uncle. His father works at a small shop, earning only PKR 12,000 per month. With eight family members to care for, even covering basic needs is a struggle for Dilbar’s father. They pay PKR 1500 for utility bills and PKR 5000 for educational expenses of their younger children. It leaves them with almost nothing at the end of the month.

With tears in his eyes, Dilbar’s father expressed his plea as follows:

“My son has never known what it feels like to live without struggle. I watch him suffer every day, and it breaks my heart that I cannot help him. His heart is weak. I work as hard as I can, but no matter how much I try, I cannot gather the money needed for his surgery. As a father, there is nothing worse than feeling helpless when your child is in pain. I am requesting your help to save my son’s life.”

Dilbar’s future depends on your generosity. Your support can give him the chance to live a normal and healthy life—a life where he can breathe freely and chase his dreams without fear.

Please open your hearts and help him receive the life-saving surgery. Your donations can bring hope to Dilbar and his family.

Muhammad Dilbar's Story

Muhammad Dilbar, a 17-year-old boy from Dera Ghazi Khan, was suffering from breathlessness and chest discomfort. While other boys of his age played sports and enjoyed an active lifestyle, Dilbar had never known that freedom. Even walking short distances or climbing a few stairs would leave him gasping for breath. Concerned about his worsening condition, Dilbar’s family took him to a local hospital. After a thorough medical evaluation, including diagnostic imaging and tests, the doctor diagnosed him with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). To restore his health and prevent life-threatening complications, the doctor advised total correction through open-heart surgery. However, for Dilbar’s family, the cost of this surgery was far beyond their reach.

Dilbar lives in a modest home with his parents and five siblings. The family survives on his father’s income of just PKR 12,000 per month, earned from working at a small shop. With no savings and no means to afford such a costly procedure, they were left devastated. During this time of need, they reached out to Transparent Hands for assistance. After understanding Dilbar’s condition, Transparent Hands swiftly registered his case.

On May 12, 2025, Dilbar was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore. His surgery took place on May 14, 2025. The open-heart surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Muhammad Asim Khan. After several days of post-operative care and observation, Dilbar was discharged in stable condition on May 20, 2025.

Dilbar expressed his gratitude as follows: “I used to sit and watch my friends play, wondering if I’d ever get to join them. This surgery has changed everything for me. I can finally breathe without fear and look forward to living a normal life.”

Dilbar is now recovering, and he will soon be able to play and move without constant exhaustion.

His dreams no longer feel distant. Dilbar’s recovery was made possible through your kind donations and the generous support of PCHF. His family

sends heartfelt thanks for giving him the gift of health and hope.
