Kausar Bibi's Story

Kausar Bibi, a 21-year-old woman from Rahim Yar Khan, has been experiencing breathlessness and chest discomfort since birth. Even simple activities, like walking short distances or climbing stairs, leave her gasping for air. Moreover, her skin and lips often turn blue due to a lack of oxygen. After a series of diagnostic tests and a thorough evaluation, doctors confirmed what her parents had feared. Kausar has Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a congenital heart defect that affects the flow of oxygen in her body. The only way to save her life is through TOF repair surgery, which will correct the defects and allow her to breathe easily. However, the surgical cost is overwhelming for her family.

Without surgery, her condition may deteriorate further. It may lead to severe complications such as heart failure, and dangerously low oxygen levels.

Kausar lives in a small house with her parents and three siblings. Her father, a security guard at a poultry farm, earns only PKR 24,000 per month. With this meager monthly income, they hardly manage to cover utility bills, food, and other living expenses. Affording an expensive heart surgery is simply impossible for them. They have no savings, and no one to turn to for help. Kausar’s father does everything in his power to provide for his family, but the burden of his daughter’s illness has left him feeling helpless.

With tears in his eyes, he said:

“I watch my daughter struggle to breathe every single day. My heart breaks, knowing I can’t do anything to take away her pain. I wish I could afford her treatment, but I am just a laborer. Please help us and give my daughter a chance to grow up without suffering.”

Kausar’s future depends on your kindness. Your support can give her the chance to live a full and healthy life. Contribute as much as you can today.

Kausar Bibi's Story

Kausar Bibi, a 21-year-old girl from Rahim Yar Khan, had been suffering from breathlessness and chest discomfort since birth. Even mild to moderate physical activity left her gasping for air. Moreover, her skin and lips turned blue, which indicated a low oxygen level in her body. Concerned about her condition, her parents took her to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After running some medical tests, the doctor diagnosed Kausar with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). To save her life, the doctor strongly recommended TOF repair surgery. Unfortunately, the surgical cost was overwhelming for her family.

Kausar lived in a modest home with her parents and three siblings. Her father, the sole breadwinner in the family, worked as a security guard and made just PKR 24,000 per month. After covering their utility bills, food, and other living expenses, they were left with nothing to set aside for a costly medical procedure. They were worried about Kausar’s health until a day came when a neighbor told them about Transparent Hands. They turned to us and asked for help. Upon listening to their concerns, we registered Kausar’s case.

On May 7, 2025, Kausar was admitted to the University of Lahore Teaching Hospital. Her surgery was scheduled for May 8, 2025. Dr. Salman Shan successfully performed her cardiac surgery, expertly repairing the defects in her heart. Kausar received the necessary post-operative care and was discharged in stable condition on May 11, 2025.

Kausar’s parents said with tears of happiness in their eyes: “For a long time, our daughter was battling with heart complications. After surgery, she has found relief now. She can now live her life to the fullest. We are grateful to your generosity and kindness that saved Kausar’s life.”

Your support has not only saved Kausar’s life but has also filled her family’s hearts with hope. Now, Kausar has a chance to grow, dream, and thrive without the shadow of illness holding her back.

Thank you for being the reason this young girl can look forward to a healthier future. Her family is grateful to you and the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation for their immense support.
