Since 2014, Transparent Hands has made quality healthcare accessible to over 400,000 deserving patients. Now, we are taking another important step by establishing the Transparent Hands Health Centre in Kahna, Lahore, bringing essential medical care closer to a local community where timely and reliable healthcare can be difficult to access.

Why We Need to Focus on Community Healthcare

Significant gaps remain in Pakistan’s universal health coverage. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimated that 14.8 million people faced catastrophic healthcare expenditure, while 11.1 million people were pushed below the US$2.15-a-day poverty line because of out-of-pocket medical costs. Pakistan’s Universal Health Coverage service index reached 56 in 2023, against a global target of 80 by 2030.

A mother should not have to travel across a city for an ultrasound scan. A worker with a minor injury should not have to wait for basic medical attention and first aid. And a family should not have to postpone a diagnostic test because reliable healthcare is too difficult to reach.

Patients will be able to consult an experienced doctor for common illnesses, ongoing health concerns, routine medical evaluation, and guidance on further treatment when required.

Maternal Health

Women will have access to a female gynaecologist, maternal health consultations, ultrasound scans, and medical guidance related to pregnancy and women’s health.

First Aid & Urgent Care

The Centre will provide timely first aid and initial medical attention for minor accidents, injuries, wounds, and other urgent but non-emergency healthcare needs.

IV Infusions & Injections

Qualified clinical staff will administer prescribed IV infusions, drips, and injections in an appropriate healthcare setting.

Diagnostic Tests

Patients will be able to access essential diagnostics such as:

Blood sugar testing
Cholesterol testing
Hepatitis B and C screening
Blood pressure check-ups
Uric acid testing
Liver Function Tests (LFTs)
Renal Function Tests (RFTs)
ECG
Ultrasound
