Let’s Repair Fatima’s Heart Defects
Fatima Tuz Zahra's Story
Fatima Tuz Zahra, a 10-year-old girl from Jhang, has been experiencing challenges since birth. She suffers from shortness of breath and chest discomfort. Moreover, Fatima’s skin and lips often turn a worrying shade of blue. Recently, Fatima’s parents took her to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed her with PA – Pulmonary Atresia, VSD – Ventricular Septal Defect, LPA – Left Pulmonary Artery, and PDA – Patent Ductus Arteriosus. These are complex heart defects and Fatima was advised to undergo open-heart surgery for the Rastelli procedure. However, the cost of the surgery is out of her family’s reach.
If left untreated, Fatima will face severe complications. Her life will be at risk and her illness may lead to heart failure or irreversible lung damage.
Fatima lives in a modest home with her parents and four school-going siblings. Her father, the sole provider for the family, works at a shop and makes PKR 60,000 per month. With this monthly income, they hardly manage to cover utility bills of PKR 3000, and children’s school fees amounting to PKR 10,000. Fatima’s parents watch her helplessly as she has been battling with her illness for a long time and struggling to survive each day of her life. However, their financial constraints make it impossible for them to afford Fatima’s life-saving surgery. During this time of need, Fatima’s parents have contacted Transparent Hands and asked for assistance.
With a heavy heart, Fatima’s mother said:
“My daughter is fighting to live a normal life. Her illness prevents her from playing, laughing, and growing like other kids. Her struggle to breathe makes us feel helpless. As a mother, I just want to see Fatima healthy and strong. I don’t want to lose her and I humbly request you to save Fatima’s life.”
The clock is ticking for Fatima. Her heart condition is deteriorating day by day. Fatima deserves to live a healthy life and only you can provide her with the opportunity to beat her heart illness. Every donation can have a significant impact on her life.
We ask you to come forward and save Fatima’s life.

Fatima Tuz Zahra's Story
Fatima Tuz Zahra, a 10-year-old girl from Jhang, had been suffering from shortness of breath and persistent chest discomfort since birth. Besides this, her skin and lips often turned a troubling shade of blue, signs that left her parents deeply worried for her life. Her parents took her to a local hospital where a doctor performed a detailed examination. Fatima was diagnosed with multiple complex heart defects—Pulmonary Atresia (PA), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), Left Pulmonary Artery (LPA) narrowing, and Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA). To give Fatima a healthier life, the doctor strongly recommended open-heart surgery for the Rastelli procedure.
However, the cost of this life-saving surgery was far beyond her family’s means. Fatima lives in a modest home with her parents and four school-going siblings. Her father, the sole breadwinner, works at a shop and earns just PKR 60,000 each month. Nearly all of his income is used up on essential expenses, leaving nothing to save for such a costly procedure. During this time of need, Fatima’s family reached out to Transparent Hands, hoping for help. After listening to their concerns, we swiftly registered her case.
Fatima was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore, on May 4, 2025. The next day, Dr. Asim Khan expertly performed the open-heart surgery for the Rastelli procedure. With post-operative care, Fatima recovered well and was discharged in stable condition on May 17, 2025.
With immense relief and joy, Fatima’s parents said: “Your generosity saved our daughter’s life. Watching her breathe without struggle and smile again is a blessing beyond words. We will forever remember your kindness and the hope you’ve given our family.”
Fatima can now look forward to a childhood filled with laughter, free from the constant shadow of her heart condition.
Her family is incredibly grateful to you for saving Fatima’s life.
