Tajmal Yousaf's Story
Meet Tajmal Yousaf, a 45-year-old man from Mardan, KPK, who is struggling with intense pain and stiffness in his right hip joint. Simple movements that people take for granted walking, sitting, and standing—have become incredibly difficult for him. He now relies on his family’s support just to get through daily activities. His illness has taken away not only his mobility but also his ability to work and provide for his family. Desperate to find relief, Tajmal visited a local hospital, where doctors performed tests and diagnosed Tajmal with Osteoarthritis of the right hip joint. The only way to restore his mobility and relieve his suffering is Total Hip Replacement (THR) surgery. Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery is far beyond his means.
If Tajmal does not undergo surgery, his suffering will only worsen. Over time, his joint may deform further, and the damage to his cartilage may become irreversible. The thought of becoming permanently disabled is heartbreaking for him. He fears being a burden on his family when all he wants is to regain his independence and be the pillar of support for his children.
Tajmal lives in a small rented house with his wife and five children. Being unemployed, he is unable to provide for them. Their household survives solely on the funds from the local Zakat Committee, which just covers their basic needs. Affording an expensive surgery is out of reach for Tajmal. During this challenging moment, Tajmal has turned to Transparent Hands for help.

Tajmal Yousaf's Story
Tajmal Yousaf, a 45-year-old from Mardan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, had been suffering from stiffness and hip pain. Even the slightest movement caused him excruciating pain. The pain hindered his regular movement and made his daily life very challenging. He became increasingly dependent on his family members to accomplish simple everyday tasks. He couldn't walk without support and found it difficult to stand for long. Concerned about his worsening physical condition, Tajmal visited a local doctor who diagnosed him with Osteoarthritis in his right hip. A complete hip replacement was advised.
Tajmal lives in a three-Marla rented house, funded by the local Zakat committee. The family of seven people, including five children, lives in two rooms. Tajmal's family found it impossible to afford the cost of the recommended surgery. During this difficult time, Tajmal's neighbor referred his case to Transparent Hands. With your generosity, we were able to provide hip replacement surgery to Tajmal.
On May 1, 2025, Tajmal underwent successful hip replacement surgery at Zia Darman Hospital, Mardan. Dr. Aiman Zia performed the surgery, and Tajmal was discharged on May 3, 2025.
After the surgery, Tajmal expressed his contentment as follows:
"I feel much better after the surgery. I will be able to live without pain. This means I can work and support my family. My family needs my support, but I have been relying on their help instead. I am grateful to everyone who helped me get well.”
