Sofia Ahmad's Story
Sofia Ahmad, a 29-year-old woman from Multan, is facing challenges during her third pregnancy. Like every mother, she hopes for a safe delivery and a healthy baby. However, this pregnancy carries serious concerns because Sofia has already undergone two C-sections in the past. After her recent medical checkup, the doctor advised that Sofia needs another C-section to help ensure a safe delivery. Attempting a normal delivery may place both Sofia and her unborn baby at risk.
Without the required C-section, Sofia and her baby may face serious complications, including:
- Uterine rupture
- Heavy bleeding during delivery
- Serious risk to the baby’s health and safety
Sofia is a housewife and lives with her husband and their two children in a rented home in Multan. Her husband holds a private job and earns just PKR 40,000 per month. He is the only earning member of the family, and four dependents rely on his limited income. The family’s monthly income is spent on food, utility bills of PKR 10,000, and other daily necessities. Given their financial situation, they can’t afford Sofia’s C-section.
