Abdul Rehman, a 3-year-old boy from Khairpur, Bahawalpur, should be spending his days playing and discovering the world around him like other children. Instead, he is struggling with breathlessness, chest discomfort, and physical weakness. Even routine activities leave him exhausted. As his condition became increasingly concerning, his family went to a doctor. After a thorough evaluation, the doctor diagnosed Abdul Rehman with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a serious congenital heart defect that affects the normal flow of blood through the heart. To save his life and improve his health, the doctor has recommended angiography followed by open-heart surgery for total correction. Without timely surgery, Abdul Rehman’s condition may continue to worsen, putting him at risk of severe complications. Delaying the procedure may lead to heart failure or even sudden complications that can be fatal.

Abdul Rehman’s family is facing hardships. He lives with his parents and four siblings in a small one-room house. His father is unemployed, and his mother is the only earning member of the family. She works as a laborer, earning just PKR 10,000 per month. Despite working hard, her income is barely enough to provide food and other basic necessities for the family. For this family, paying for Abdul Rehman’s life-saving surgery is impossible.

With tears in her eyes, his mother says:

“I pray for my son’s health and I can’t see him in this condition at such a young age. I work as hard as I can, but my earnings are not enough to afford his surgery. I cannot bear the thought of losing him. Kindly save my child.”

The recommended surgery can correct his heart defects and give him the opportunity to grow, learn, and dream like every other child.
