You Can Change Raji Siddiqui’s Life with Cholecystectomy
Raji Siddique's Story
For the past four years, 56-year-old Raji Siddique from Hyderabad has been living with pain that has gradually made daily life more difficult. Pain in the upper right side of her abdomen and an inability to digest fatty meals have affected her health and limited her ability to carry out routine household responsibilities. Recently, Raji went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After undergoing laboratory tests and an ultrasound scan, she was diagnosed with Cholelithiasis (gallstones), a condition that develops when hardened deposits form inside the gallbladder. To relieve her symptoms, the doctor has advised Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, a surgical procedure to remove the affected gallbladder.
If Raji does not undergo the surgery soon, her condition may lead to serious complications such as:
Acute cholecystitis (inflammation of the gallbladder)
Biliary obstruction Pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas)
Sepsis
Raji lives with her family in a mud house in Hyderabad. Her husband works as a daily wage laborer, earning approximately PKR 20,000 per month. Their son also supports the family through daily wage work, earning another PKR 20,000. Together, they provide for a household of seven family members, leaving very little to cover unexpected expenses. Given their financial situation, the cost of Raji’s surgery is beyond their reach.
Sharing her concerns, Raji said:
“For several years, I have been living with pain that affects my daily life and makes even routine tasks difficult. My family’s income is only enough to manage household expenses. Kindly help me receive the surgery that can relieve my pain and enable me to live a healthy life.”
Good health is something many of us take for granted, but for Raji, it has become a distant hope. Every contribution can make a meaningful difference in her recovery from gallstones.
