If healthcare remains available just for the rich people, who can afford to pay immediate cash for the medical facilities it would be terribly unjust to humanity. Every patient should be treated equally and with respect regardless of their financial condition. Whether rich or poor, all human beings should receive medical assistance.Your gender, age, race, caste, religion or financial status should never determine your right to access quality health care.

The financial condition of poor families deteriorates even more as they are forced to pay for expensive health care services, medicines and diagnosis. Even if we cannot give them permanent relief from the suffocating situation, we can at least try to encounter the situation with a temporary relief.

This motto has encouraged NGO’s, nonprofits and some medical trusts to come forward and organize mobile medical camps in rural and urban areas, to provide free and basic medical care to poor patients. Often surgical cases identified in these camps are registered with the NGO’s for  free of cost surgeries.

Again the NGO’s, nonprofits or medical trusts never sat  back and waited for the government, to take steps to resolve the existing crises in our healthcare system. These organizations came forward and built online fundraising platforms to gather funds for the treatment of poor and needy patients.

Transparent Hands is a renowned and reputable medical trust working in Pakistan, to fund the surgeries of poor patients using a global Crowdfunding platform. The platform provides full access to details of each patient, and the donors are free to choose any recipient for their donation. The entire platform runs on complete sincerity while ensuring transparency in all their process.  Till now, this organization has spent about $388.98 to perform 417 free surgeries in collaboration with other supporting organizations.

This organization aims to extend their healthcare services in the remote areas of Pakistan, where poor and illiterate villagers cannot access even basic healthcare services. People living in rural areas are even more at risk of TB due to lack of access to proper medical facilities. Ironically, 75% of the total population lives in rural areas and 45% lives under the poverty line. The main risk factors for TB are malnutrition and unhygienic foods. Malnutrition is most prevalent in the rural and poverty-stricken regions of Pakistan. Over the course,ICMHD also recorded 42,000 cases of TB and mortality rate of 48 thousand deaths per year as a result of TB cases. This disease spreads easily and can be transmitted through any oral-to-oral contact with an infected patient.

Till now Transparent hands has organized 35 free medical camps in rural areas and has treated 12, 143 poor patients. They organize mobile medical camps in these locations, providing free medicines as prescribed by doctors and other free lab test facilities to the patients, including Ultrasound, LFT’s, CBC, Hepatitis and  Diabetic tests.
