Abida Parveen Has Found Relief from Multinodular Goiter

Abida Parveen's Story

Abida Parveen, a 45-year-old woman from Lahore, had been living with a growing lump on the front of her neck for several years. She initially managed her condition with medicines prescribed for her hypothyroid status and later shifted to antithyroid drugs. Despite this, the swelling continued to increase in size. Over time, the lump began causing difficulty in swallowing food, affecting her daily routine. She visited a doctor at a local hospital. After a detailed medical evaluation, her doctor diagnosed her with Simple Multinodular Goiter (MNG). Her doctor advised a Subtotal Thyroidectomy to remove the enlarged thyroid tissue and prevent further complications of this condition.

Abida’s financial circumstances made her condition even more challenging. She lives with her husband and a son, both of whom work as laborers. Together, they earn around PKR 50,000 per month, barely enough to manage their household needs. The family had already experienced tremendous hardships after losing their home during the devastating floods, leaving them displaced and financially unstable. On October 20, 2025, Abida was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Lahore. Dr. Ahmed Fawad successfully performed her Subtotal Thyroidectomy. The surgery relieved the pressure caused by the enlarged thyroid gland and protected her from further complications. She received careful postoperative monitoring and was discharged in stable condition on October 22, 2025.
