Asia Firdous Has Recovered From Uterine Fibroids
Asia Firdous's Story
Asia Firdous, a 53-year-old woman from Okara, had been struggling with heavy menstrual bleeding and irregular cycles for several months. Alongside this, she experienced severe pain, weakness, and fatigue, making it increasingly difficult to manage daily household tasks and care for her four children. Concerned about her declining health, Asia visited a nearby hospital for a thorough evaluation. After conducting an ultrasound scan and performing essential laboratory tests, her doctor diagnosed her with Uterine Fibroids. To address her condition and improve her health, the doctor recommended a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy (TAH) and Bilateral Salpingo-Oophorectomy (BSO). Unfortunately, the cost of this critical surgery was beyond Asia’s financial capacity.
Asia lives in a modest home with her husband and four children. Her husband is the sole breadwinner, working as a daily wage laborer with a monthly income of just PKR 25,000. Managing household expenses and children’s education alongside her medical needs was impossible for the family. Facing this challenging situation, Asia reached out to Transparent Hands for assistance. After evaluating her case, we registered her case.
On September 3, 2025, Asia was admitted to Life Hospital, Lahore. Dr. Saba Naz successfully performed the Total Abdominal Hysterectomy and Bilateral Salpingo-Oophorectomy on the next day. The surgery was completed without any complication, and Asia received attentive post-operative care. She was discharged in stable condition on September 6, 2025.
Asia expressed her joy as follows:
“I was living with constant pain and fatigue that made it hard to care for my family or complete daily tasks. Thanks to your support, my surgery was successful. I feel stronger every day. I am truly grateful to you for helping me regain my health and independence.”
Asia is now recovering well and can actively participate in her daily routines and family responsibilities without constant discomfort. Her quality of life has greatly improved, and her family feels immense relief and happiness. Her family expresses heartfelt gratitude to you for making this life-changing surgery possible.
