Asma Rehmat’s Urological Surgery was Successful

Asma Rehmat Ali, a 55-year-old woman from Hyderabad, had been experiencing pain in her left flank for seven years. She also experienced an increased urge to urinate and a burning sensation during urination. This illness affected her ability to carry out her routine tasks and care for her child. Concerned about her condition, she visited a doctor at a local hospital. After a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed Asma with Pelvi Ureteric Junction Obstruction (PUJO). To ease her discomfort, the doctor recommended a Left Ureterorenoscopy (URS) with DJ stent insertion. However, the cost of the surgery was beyond her family’s means.

Asma lives in a modest rented home with her husband, son, and other family members. Her husband is currently unemployed. Her son works irregularly as an electrician, earning barely PKR 15,000 per month. Their financial situation was further strained because they depended on her husband’s brother to cover the house rent. Due to these hardships, they were unable to pay for

She received attentive post-operative care and was discharged in stable condition on September 15, 2025.
