Bisma Naz's Story

Bisma Naz, a 20-year-old woman from Karachi, had been experiencing pain and discomfort due to a lump in her right breast for the past two months. Her lump gradually increased in size, making it difficult for her to sleep or even perform simple daily tasks. Concerned about her health, Bisma visited a doctor for a checkup. After conducting detailed examinations, the doctor diagnosed Bisma with breast cancer. To prevent the cancer from spreading and to protect her health, the doctor advised a Modified Radical Mastectomy (MRM).

However, Bisma’s family could not afford the surgery. She lives in a small rented home in Karachi with her parents and two younger sisters. Her father, once a hardworking mechanic, is now bedridden after a heart attack. Her mother and sisters try to support the family through home-based garment work, earning only PKR 15,000 per month. This income is insufficient for even their basic household needs. Affording to pay for Bisma’s surgery was not possible for them. During this challenging situation, Bisma’s family approached Transparent Hands for support. Moved by their plea, we registered her case.

On October 23, 2025, Bisma was admitted to the Bait ul Sukoon Cancer Hospital in Karachi. Dr. Mehwish Mughal successfully performed the Modified Radical Mastectomy. The surgery was completed smoothly, and Bisma was closely monitored post-operation. She was discharged in stable condition on October 27, 2025.
