Fahad Amir Has Gained Clear Vision Through Cataract Surgery

Fahad Amir's Story

Fahad Amir, a 14-year-old boy from Khanewal, had been struggling with an eye condition that gradually affected his daily life. He experienced dimness of vision in his right eye, making it extremely difficult to see clearly. His limited vision also affected his confidence and ability to interact comfortably with others. Concerned about his worsening condition, Fahad’s parents took him to a doctor for a detailed evaluation. After careful examination, he was diagnosed with a cataract in the right eye, a condition caused by clouding of the natural lens of the eye. To restore his sight, Right Eye Phacoemulsification with intraocular lens implantation was recommended. Unfortunately, the cost of surgery was far beyond the family’s financial reach.

Fahad lives in a modest home in Khanewal with his parents and three siblings. His father works as a daily wage laborer and earns only PKR 20,000 per month. With such limited income, the family struggles to meet essential expenses such as food, utility bills, and household needs. Their financial situation made it impossible for them to afford Fahad’s surgery. During this difficult time, the family approached Transparent Hands, and Fahad’s case was registered.

On September 26, 2025, Fahad was admitted to Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Hospital in Multan. The surgery was smooth, and Fahad received proper post-operative care. He was discharged in stable condition on September 27, 2025.
