Farida Khanum’s right tongue squamous cell carcinoma is treated
Farida Khanum's Story
Farida Khanum, aged 62, a resident of Haripur was suffering from a tiny pustule formed on the right side of her tongue. Five months after the development of this pustule she decided to seek medical assistance. Medical examination revealed that over time the pustule had developed into Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) of Oral Cavity. In order to treat her condition and its subsequent spread to other regions, Farida Khanum was advised Glossectomy and supra omohyoid neck dissection by her doctor. For this purpose she was admitted to Patel Hospital, where she underwent the surgery by Dr. Talha Ahmed Qureshi, on 05.03.2021. She was discharged from the hospital in a satisfactory condition after four days of stay. In Farida’s case, post-operative care and follow-up care with regular check-ups remains pivotal to her treatment.
