Fatima Idrees 's Story

It is a joy to share the success story of little Fatima, whose life has been transformed through the generosity and compassion of our donors. Fatima, a three-year-old girl from Bagh, was born with congenital sensorineural hearing loss, leaving her unable to experience the world of sounds that surround her. However, thanks to the support and contributions received, Fatima recently underwent a life-changing cochlear implant surgery at Ali Medical Center, performed by the skilled hands of Dr. Jawad Ahmed on 14th April 2023.

Fatima’s parents first became aware of her condition when she failed to respond to their voices at the age of one. The diagnosis of sensorineural deafness left the family devastated, as they knew that without intervention, Fatima’s ability to learn and communicate would be severely hindered. However, the financial burden of the surgery seemed insurmountable for the family, as her father’s monthly income of PKR 32,000 was insufficient to cover the expenses.

In their desperation, Fatima’s father reached out to Transparent Hands, and through our crowdfunding platform, compassionate donors came forward to support this noble cause. Their selfless contributions allowed Fatima to receive the much-needed cochlear implant surgery. The surgery, which involves a small electronic device stimulating the cochlear nerve, has opened a whole new world for Fatima.

Now, on a quick path to recovery, Fatima is learning to process sounds and recognize the voices of her loved ones. Her father, overwhelmed with gratitude, expressed his heartfelt appreciation to all the donors who made this life-changing surgery possible. He acknowledged the profound impact this surgery will have on Fatima’s future, as it provides her with an opportunity to function well in life and experience the joys of hearing the world around her.
