Muhammad Nafay 's Story

Muhammad Nafay, a 2-year-old boy from Sargodha, had been living in a world of silence since birth. When his parents learned about his condition, they consulted with an audiologist. Nafay was diagnosed with congenital sensorineural hearing loss. After examination, the doctor recommended cochlear implant surgery as the most reliable option for him to gain a sense of hearing.

Nafay’s parents longed to see their only child listen and respond to sounds. However, Nafay’s father found himself with no feasible options to cover the cost of his son’s surgery. With hope, Nafay’s family contacted Transparent Hands for financial assistance.

We promptly assisted his case and Nafay was admitted to Ali Medical Centre, Islamabad. Dr. Jawad Ahmad, a skilled surgeon, successfully fitted the internal component of the cochlear implant on 27th June 2024.

On 28th June 2024, Nafay’s parents celebrated his discharge. Their hearts were brimming with new hope and anticipation. Six weeks after the surgery, the external component was carefully installed. After the treatment, Nafay marked the beginning of a new chapter with a speech therapy program. He is receiving regular speech therapy sessions to unlock his potential for effective communication. Each session is a stepping stone, guiding him toward mastering the nuances of language and communication.

Nafay’s father said with gratitude:
