Rehmat Khatoon Had a Successful Cholecystectomy with Your Support
Rehmat Khatoon's Story
Rehmat Khatoon, a 34-year-old woman from Hyderabad, had been living with upper abdominal pain for the past five months. The pain often became worse after meals and was accompanied by nausea and discomfort. Her health issues slowly began affecting her daily life, making it difficult for her to manage household responsibilities and care for her five children. Worried about her persistent pain, she visited a local hospital for medical evaluation. After conducting the necessary tests, the doctor diagnosed her with Cholelithiasis, a condition in which hard stone-like deposits form inside the gallbladder. To relieve her symptoms and prevent further complications, the doctor advised laparoscopic cholecystectomy.
For Rehmat’s family, affording the surgery was impossible. Her husband works as a laborer and earns only PKR 15,000 per month. This limited income is barely enough to cover food, household expenses, and the needs of their five children. Given their financial situation, they contacted Transparent Hands and asked for assistance. After listening to their concerns, we promptly registered Rehmat’s case.
On March 29, 2026, Rehmat was admitted to Isra Welfare Hospital in Hyderabad. Her laparoscopic cholecystectomy was successfully performed by Dr. Aftab Ahmed Soomro on March 30, 2026. The procedure removed the gallbladder that had been causing pain and discomfort. After post-operative care and observation, Rehmat recovered well and was discharged in stable condition on April 1, 2026.
Sharing her gratitude, Rehmat said:
“Before surgery, I could not eat or work comfortably because of the pain. I was worried about my children because I could not care for them the way I wanted to. We had no way to arrange the surgery. Your support helped me receive treatment and return home with relief. I am extremely thankful to you.”
Today, Rehmat is recovering steadily and feeling much better. The surgery has brought comfort back into her life and peace to her family.
Your generosity made her treatment possible and helped her move forward with new strength and hope.
