Rohan Won His Battle Against Heart Disease

Rohan Khan's Story

One-year-old Rohan Khan, from Upper Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, had been fighting serious health challenges since the day he was born. He became breathless during feeding, and moments of crying would leave his lips and skin turning blue. These episodes made daily care extremely difficult for his worried parents. Alarmed by his worsening condition, his family took him for evaluation at a nearby hospital. After several diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed Rohan with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) and advised CT-Angiography followed by open-heart surgery for total correction. However, his family couldn’t afford his treatment.

Rohan lives in a small mud house, shared by six family members, including his parents and siblings. His father works as a daily-wage laborer, bringing home only PKR 18,000 per month. This income barely covers their food and essential household needs. With no savings and no additional source of income, affording such a major surgery was far beyond their reach. During this time of despair, his parents reached out to Transparent Hands. Upon listening to their concerns, we swiftly registered his case.

With the generous support of donors, Rohan was admitted to the Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore. On August 20, 2025, Dr. Asim Khan performed total correction surgery for Tetralogy of Fallot. The procedure was successful, and Rohan received careful monitoring in the post-operative care unit. He was discharged in stable condition on August 25, 2025.

His parents shared their heartfelt words as follows:
