Sajida Is Thankful to You for Relieving Her Hernia Pain with Surgery

Sajida Bibi's Story

Sajida Bibi, a 54-year-old woman from Sheikhupura, had been suffering from pain and discomfort due to a lump in her umbilical region for one year. Simple movements like sitting and walking had become difficult for her. This condition also made it hard for her to perform her household chores. Concerned about her condition, she visited a doctor at a nearby hospital. After performing an ultrasound scan and some necessary laboratory tests, the doctor diagnosed Sajida with a Paraumbilical Hernia. To treat this issue, the doctor recommended abdominal lipectomy and mesh hernioplasty. However, her family couldn’t afford her treatment.

Sajida lives in a modest rented home with her husband, a child, and three other family members. Her husband, the sole breadwinner in the family, is a daily wage laborer and earns around PKR 32,000 per month. This income was insignificant to cover their house rent, utility bills as well as food expenses. Managing the cost of a major surgery was beyond their financial capacity. During this difficult time, Sajida’s family reached out to Transparent Hands for help. After listening to their concerns, we swiftly registered her case.

On February 18, 2026, Sajida was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Lahore. Considering her condition, Dr. Ahmed Fawad performed her abdominoplasty and ventral hernia repair. The procedure went smoothly, and she was kept under close observation for post-operative care. Sajida was discharged in satisfactory condition on February 19, 2026.

Sajida shared her feelings as follows:
“I had been suffering due to pain for a long time, and it was becoming difficult for me to manage my daily work. Your support came at a time when we had no hope. After the surgery, I feel much more comfortable and relieved. I am truly thankful to you for helping me receive this treatment and easing my difficulties.”

Today, Sajida is recovering well and gradually returning to her daily routine.
