Sania Will Always Remember You For Supporting Her Heart Surgery

Sania Shahid's Story

Sania Shahid, a 7-year-old girl from Sahiwal, had been living with serious health challenges for a long time. She often experienced breathing difficulties, frequent fatigue, and recurring chest infections. She also faced weakness and poor weight gain, and these issues made it hard for her to have a normal childhood. Worried about her deteriorating health, Sania’s parents took him to a nearby hospital and consulted a doctor. After a detailed clinical evaluation and some necessary diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed her with a large perimembranous Ventricular Septal Defect and Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction (RVOTO). To improve her heart function and prevent further complications, the doctor recommended Double-Chambered Right Ventricle (DCRV) repair.

Unfortunately, the cost of this complex surgery was beyond the family’s financial means. Sania belongs to a displaced family and they are currently living in an acquaintance’s house. Her father works as a laborer and earns only PKR 20,000 per month. This income is barely enough to support a family of six. Managing daily expenses was a struggle for them, making it impossible for them to arrange money for her treatment. During this difficult time, Sania’s family contacted Transparent Hands. Moved by their plea, we registered her case.

On February 18, 2026, Sania was admitted to the University of Lahore Teaching Hospital. On February 19 2026, her surgery was expertly performed by Dr. Salman Shah. The operation went successfully. After receiving post-operative care, she was discharged in satisfactory condition on February 22, 2026.

Sania’s father shared his happiness as follows:
