Sidra Rashid Underwent a Successful ASD Closure Surgery

Sidra Rashid's Story

Sidra Rashid, a 21-year-old female from Dera Ismail Khan, had been facing shortness of breath, fever, and chest pain since childhood. Concerned about her condition, her family took her to a local hospital. After some diagnostic tests, it was revealed that she had ASD (Atrial Septal defect), RVVO (Right Ventricular Volume Overload), and PVSD (Perimembranous Ventricular Septal Defect). To treat these life-threatening conditions, her cardiologist strongly recommended open-heart surgery for ASD closure.

Sidra is a student and her father and brother work as daily wagers. Their meager income made it impossible for them to afford the cost of her open-heart surgery. However, a glimmer of hope emerged when a relative informed them about Transparent Hands.

Transparent Hands swiftly took action, understanding the urgency of Sidra’s situation and her family’s immense financial burden.
Sidra was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore, for her surgical procedure. The skilled hands of Dr. Asim Khan successfully performed the ASD-closure surgery on 9th May 2024. He skillfully addressed the complex challenges within Sidra’s heart. The surgery was a resounding success.

Following the operation, Sidra stayed in the hospital for 5 days and received the necessary care and monitoring.
