Sonia Kiran Successfully Underwent Lipoma Excision Surgery

Sonia Kiran's Story

Sonia Kiran, a 29-year-old woman from Lahore, had been suffering from a lump on the left side of her cervical region for over a year. Initially, the lump was small. Over time, it grew in size, causing her discomfort and affecting her daily life. Concerned, she consulted a doctor and underwent an excisional biopsy of the lump. The biopsy revealed that the lump was a Schwannoma, a benign tumor originating from nerve tissue. Despite the initial surgery, the lump reappeared in the same area and continued to grow, causing physical discomfort. Following a recent evaluation, her doctor advised a lump excision and biopsy under general anesthesia. However, the cost of the surgery was overwhelming for Sonia and her husband.

Sonia lives with her husband in a modest home in Lahore. Her husband works as a laborer and earns only PKR 25,000 per month, which barely covers their basic living expenses. With such limited income, managing daily expenses was a significant challenge. Given their financial situation, affording the costly surgery was impossible for them. During their search for help, Sonia reached out to Transparent Hands for support. Moved by her plea, we registered her case.

On October 13, 2025, Sonia was admitted to the Evercare Hospital in Lahore. Dr. Ahmed Fawad successfully performed the Lump Excision under General Anesthesia. The surgery went smoothly, and Sonia received post-operative care. She was discharged in stable condition on October 14, 2025. Her biopsy report revealed a Schwanoma which was completely excised. Now she is pain free.
