Umm e Khadija can Hear Now
Umm-e-Khadija Mumtaz's Story
Six-year-old Umm e Khadija, a resident of Faisalabad, had not been able to hear since she was born. When her parents noticed that she was not responding to their voices, they took her to the doctor who diagnosed her with sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL). The doctor recommended a cochlear implant surgery for Umm e Khadija. For this purpose, she was referred to National Hospital and Medical center, Lahore. Her free cochlear implant was installed by Dr. Naveed Aslam on 22.01.2022 and the internal component of her Cochlear Implant was fixed. The external component of her cochlear implant was installed after six weeks. She is no longer a stranger to the world of sounds.
