Randat Khila's Story

Randat Khila, a 47-year-old woman from Upper Dir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, had been suffering from pain in the upper right side of her abdomen for a long time. Her condition was often accompanied by nausea and vomiting, especially after eating fatty meals. The discomfort made it extremely difficult for her to manage daily household responsibilities and care for her children. Concerned about her worsening condition, Randat visited a doctor at a local hospital for medical evaluation. After conducting an ultrasound scan and necessary laboratory tests, the doctor diagnosed her with Symptomatic Gallstones. This condition occurs when stones form in the gallbladder, leading to inflammation, severe abdominal pain, and digestive problems. To prevent further health risks, her doctor advised open cholecystectomy.

However, the cost of surgery was far beyond her family’s financial capacity. Randat lives in a modest home with her three children, all of whom study at a government school. Her husband works as a car washer and earns only PKR 25,000 per month. This meager income barely covers essential household expenses, leaving no possibility of affording major surgery. During this difficult situation, Randat and her family contacted Transparent Hands. Moved by their plea, we registered her case.

On October 30, 2025, Randat Khila was admitted to the Evercare Hospital in Lahore. Her open cholecystectomy was successfully performed by Dr. Ahmed Fawad. The surgery went smoothly, and Randat received essential post-operative care. She showed steady improvement and was discharged in stable condition on October 31, 2025.

Randat shared her feelings as follows:
“I lived with constant pain that made even simple tasks unbearable. Medicines did not help, and I felt helpless. After the surgery, my pain has eased, and I feel stronger each day. I am truly thankful to you for restoring my health and enabling me to care for my children again.”

Today, Randat Khila is recovering well. Her abdominal pain has resolved, and she is gradually resuming her household responsibilities with comfort and confidence.

Your support has helped Randat regain her health and the strength to move forward with a better quality of life.
