You Brought Relief to Rasheeda’s Life Through Cholecystectomy
Rasheeda Kousar's Story
Rasheeda Kousar, a 34-year-old woman from Umerkot, Sindh, had been living with pain in the upper right side of her abdomen for four months. The pain often came with nausea and repeated vomiting, leaving her weak and unable to carry out her daily routine with ease. As a mother of two, she continued trying to care for her children and manage her home, but her illness made even simple household tasks difficult. As her condition continued to affect her health and responsibilities, Rasheeda visited a local hospital for an evaluation. After a detailed examination and some necessary tests, the doctor diagnosed her with symptomatic gallstones. This condition occurs when hardened deposits form inside the gallbladder, causing pain, inflammation, vomiting, and digestive discomfort. To relieve her suffering and prevent further complications, the doctor advised an open cholecystectomy.
For Rasheeda’s family, affording this surgery was not possible. She lives in a rented house with her husband and two children. Her husband is the only earning member of the family and works as a teacher with a modest income of PKR 30,000 per month. His income is spent on rent, food, utility bills, and the basic needs of the children. With no savings left for healthcare, the family had no way to pay for her surgery. After reviewing Rasheeda’s medical reports and financial circumstances, Transparent Hands registered her case for treatment.
On May 13, 2026, Rasheeda was admitted to the Isra University Welfare Hospital in Hyderabad. Her open cholecystectomy was successfully performed by Dr. Waseem Memon on May 14, 2026. The procedure removed the gallbladder that had been causing her months of pain and discomfort. After careful post-operative care and observation, Rasheeda was discharged in stable condition on May 16, 2026.
Expressing her gratitude, Rasheeda shared:
“For months, I had lived with pain that made it hard to look after my children and home. I was worried because we could not afford the surgery. Your support gave me the chance to recover and return to my family with relief. I am truly thankful for this kindness.”
Today, Rasheeda is recovering well. The surgery has brought her relief.
Her family is deeply grateful to you for making her treatment possible and helping her regain strength, comfort, and hope.
