You Eased Rakhshanda’s Pain by Supporting Her Surgery
Rakhshanda Jabeen's Story
Rakhshanda Jabeen, a 39-year-old woman from Islamabad, had been suffering from pain in her right flank for the past few months. The pain often intensified, making it difficult for her to manage daily household responsibilities. Along with constant discomfort, she experienced frequent nausea and vomiting, which left her physically exhausted. Concerned about her worsening condition, Rakhshanda visited a local hospital for medical evaluation. After a detailed examination and necessary diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed her with right kidney stones. Kidney stones are hard mineral deposits that form inside the kidneys and can obstruct urine flow, leading to severe pain, and potential kidney damage.
To prevent further complications and relieve her symptoms, the doctor recommended Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy. However, the cost of the surgery was beyond Rakhshanda’s financial means.
Rakhshanda is a dedicated housewife caring for a family of five, including three school-going children. Her husband works as a delivery rider and earns approximately PKR 30,000 per month. This limited income is mostly spent on food and education expenses, leaving no capacity to afford surgical treatment. In this difficult situation, Rakhshanda reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help. After listening to her concerns, we promptly registered her case.
Rakhshanda’s surgery was initially scheduled for July 23, 2025, at Maryam Memorial Hospital in Rawalpindi. On the day of the procedure, her blood pressure was found to be significantly raised, as she is a known hypertensive patient. For her safety, the surgery was postponed and rescheduled after medical stabilization. On August 6, 2025, Dr. Saadat Hassan successfully performed Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy. The surgery was completed smoothly, and Rakhshanda received proper post-operative care and monitoring. She was discharged in satisfactory condition on August 7, 2025.
Rakhshanda shared her feelings in these words:
“I am truly thankful for your support in my surgery. After the surgery, I have been feeling stronger, can perform daily tasks more comfortably, and notice steady improvement. Your generosity has given me new hope and strength.”
Today, Rakhshanda Jabeen is recovering steadily. She will soon be able to manage her household responsibilities more comfortably. She and her family are deeply grateful to you for supporting her treatment and changing her life.
