Awais Ismail Khan 's Story

Five-year-old Awais, a resident of Malakand, KPK, had sensorineural hearing loss since birth. His parents learned about his condition when he was a year old and took him to a local hospital. The doctor evaluated him and advised Cochlear Implant Surgery. He was admitted to the National Hospital, Lahore, where Dr.Naveed performed the operation to install the internal component of the cochlear implant successfully on 4-06-2022. Awais was discharged after one day of stay in the hospital. After six weeks, the external component of his cochlear implant was installed. Awais is discovering new sounds every day.
