Farooq Bashir's Story

Farooq Bashir, a 54-year-old man from Lahore, was living with pain and discomfort caused by a swelling in his right groin. Over time, the lump gradually increased in size, making even simple daily activities difficult. Standing for long periods, sitting, and carrying out his work became increasingly painful. Concerned about his worsening health, Farooq visited a local hospital for an evaluation. After a detailed examination, the doctor diagnosed him with a right-sided inguinal hernia. To repair the hernia and relieve his symptoms, the doctor recommended inguinal hernioplasty. For Farooq and his family, affording the surgery was impossible.

He lives in a modest house with his wife and three children. Farooq works as a carpenter and earns approximately PKR 50,000 per month. His income is used to cover household expenses, food, utility bills, and his children’s needs, leaving no savings for healthcare. Unable to afford the surgery, Farooq contacted Transparent Hands for assistance. After reviewing his medical reports and financial circumstances, we registered his case.

On June 10, 2026, Farooq was admitted to the Evercare Hospital in Lahore. His inguinal hernioplasty was successfully performed by Dr. Ahmed Fawad. The procedure repaired the weakened abdominal wall and relieved the hernia that had been causing him pain and discomfort. After receiving post-operative care and observation, Farooq was discharged in stable condition on June 11, 2026.
