Bring Relief to Shumaila’s Life Through Hysterectomy
Shumaila Bibi's Story
Shumaila Bibi, a 41-year-old woman from Kasur, is suffering from a painful health condition that has made even daily tasks difficult. Her abdominal pain, swelling, and heavy menstrual bleeding gradually became impossible to ignore. Recently, she went to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After a thorough examination, the doctor diagnosed her with uterine fibroids and advised Total Abdominal Hysterectomy (TAH). Uterine fibroids are non-cancerous growths that develop in or around the uterus. However, her family can’t afford her treatment. If Shumaila does not undergo the recommended surgery, her condition may continue to worsen. She may experience excessive menstrual bleeding, chronic pelvic pain, anemia due to continuous blood loss, and pressure on nearby organs that can interfere with her daily life. Delaying treatment may lead to further complications and significantly affect her health and well-being.
Shumaila is a housewife living with her husband and their five children in a modest one-room house in a rural area of Kasur. Her husband is the family’s only earning member and works as a laborer, bringing home just PKR 25,000 each month. Out of this limited income, nearly PKR 7,000 is spent on their children’s education, while PKR 2,000 goes towards utility bills. The remaining amount is barely enough to provide food and other household necessities for a family of seven. Affording Shumaila’s surgery is beyond their financial reach.
With a heavy heart, Shumaila said:
“The pain has made it difficult for me to manage my home and take care of my children the way I used to. My husband works hard every day, but his earnings are only enough to meet our basic needs. I need your support to undergo this life-changing surgery.”
Shumaila is counting on your kindness. Your support can help her receive the surgery and ensure her recovery from uterine fibroids.
