You Helped Muhammad Ibrahim Survive Through Heart Surgery

Muhammad Ibrahim's Story

Muhammad Ibrahim, a 9-year-old boy from Faisalabad, had been suffering from breathlessness and chest discomfort since birth. Even simple activities like climbing stairs or playing with friends left him gasping for air. Concerned about his health, his parents took him to a nearby hospital for evaluation. After conducting a series of diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed Ibrahim with a Congenital Heart Defect (Large Atrial Septal Defect). This condition occurs when there is an abnormal opening in the wall between the heart’s two upper chambers (atria). To save his life and improve his quality of life, the doctor recommended open-heart surgery for ASD closure.

Ibrahim lives in a modest house in Faisalabad with his parents and two siblings. His father is the sole earner of the family, working as a laborer and earning only PKR 30,000 per month. A significant portion of his income went towards their utility bills and food expenses. After covering these expenses, they were left with nothing to set aside for Ibrahim’s life-saving cardiac surgery. Given their financial situation, they reached out to Transparent Hands. Recognizing the gravity of his situation, we registered his case.

On September 3, 2025, Muhammad Ibrahim was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore. On September 4, 2025, Dr. Asim Khan successfully performed his open-heart surgery for ASD closure. The surgery went smoothly, and Ibrahim received essential post-operative care. He was discharged in stable condition from the hospital on September 8, 2025.

Ibrahim’s parents shared their gratitude as follows:
