Muhammad Rehan's Story

Two-and-a-half-year-old Rehan, a resident of Rawalpindi, had been suffering from profound hearing loss since birth. His parents noticed this and took him to the hospital for a consultation when he was a year old. After a thorough evaluation and some diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with sensorineural hearing loss. To overcome this condition, the doctor advised him to undergo cochlear implant surgery.

He was admitted to National Hospital Lahore, where Dr. Asim skillfully performed the cochlear implant surgery on 12-06-2023. The doctor successfully implanted the internal component with accuracy and expertise, constituting an important step in his quest for hearing restoration. He was discharged after one day of stay in the hospital.

Rehan’s complete recovery of hearing was a gradual process. After a few weeks, the skilled doctor inserted the external component of the cochlear implant. He will be able to recognize and process sounds after going through several speech therapy sessions.
