Farzana Khalid's Story

Farzana Khalid, a 36-year-old woman from Lahore, was struggling with a painful swelling near her navel that gradually became larger over time. Even activities like standing for long periods, bending, walking, and completing household chores became increasingly difficult. As a mother of five, she tried her best to care for her family despite the discomfort. However, her condition continued to limit her ability to manage everyday responsibilities. Concerned about her health, Farzana visited a local hospital for a medical evaluation. After a detailed examination, the doctor diagnosed her with a paraumbilical hernia. This condition develops when tissue pushes through a weak area in the muscles near the navel, causing a noticeable lump and pain. To repair the weakened abdominal wall and help her return to a comfortable life, the doctor recommended mesh hernioplasty.

For Farzana’s family, affording the surgery was impossible. She lives in a modest rented house with her husband and five children. Her husband works as a laborer and earns around PKR 30,000 per month. His modest income is used to pay house rent, utility bills, groceries, and other household expenses. On June 18, 2026, Farzana was admitted to the Evercare Hospital in Lahore. Her mesh hernioplasty was successfully performed by Dr. Ahmed Fawad. After receiving post-operative care and observation, she recovered well and was discharged in stable condition on June 19, 2026.
