You Played a Key Role in Saving Ayyan’s Life with Heart Surgery
Muhammad Ayyan Khan's Story
Muhammad Ayyan Khan, a 2-year-old boy from Mianwali, had been battling with serious heart problems since birth. He often experienced shortness of breath and chest discomfort. His lips and skin would turn bluish because of low oxygen levels in his blood. Even mild physical activity left him exhausted, preventing him from playing, walking comfortably, or enjoying childhood like other children his age. Determined to find the cause of his condition, Ayyan’s parents took him to a local hospital for a comprehensive evaluation. After detailed diagnostic testing, the doctor diagnosed him with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF). It is a congenital heart defect involving four structural abnormalities that interfere with normal blood circulation and reduce the amount of oxygen reaching the body. To correct these defects, the doctor recommended Total Correction surgery.
Unfortunately, the surgery was beyond the family’s financial means. Ayyan lives with his parents and two siblings in a relative’s house, where the family shares limited living space. His father works as a rickshaw driver and earns only PKR 25,000 per month. This modest income is used to cover food, transportation, and other essential household expenses, making it impossible to afford cardiac surgery. Hoping to save their son’s life, Ayyan’s parents reached out to Transparent Hands. After evaluating his medical records and the family’s financial circumstances, his case was registered.
On June 26, 2026, Ayyan was admitted to the University of Lahore Teaching Hospital. His Total Correction surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Faiz Rasool on June 27, 2026. After receiving post-operative care and close monitoring, Ayyan was discharged in stable condition on June 29, 2026.
Expressing his gratitude, Ayyan’s father said:
“Every day, we worried about our son’s health and prayed that he would receive the treatment. Your generosity has given our child the opportunity to grow up healthier and enjoy the childhood every parent wishes for their child. Thank you for your incredible kindness.”
The successful surgery has corrected Ayyan’s heart defects and significantly improved his condition.
His family extends their heartfelt gratitude to you and the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation (PCHF) for making this life-changing treatment possible.
