You Played a Key Role in Saving Saim’s Life with Heart Surgery
Muhammad Saim's Story
Muhammad Saim, a 6-year-old boy from Okara, had been suffering from shortness of breath and chest discomfort since birth. He struggled to breathe even after mild physical activity. Moreover, he faced weakness and tiredness. The condition did not allow him to grow properly like other kids of his age. Concerned, his parents took him to a local hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing a detailed examination, the doctor diagnosed Saim with Restrictive inlet VSD, Left Ventricular volume overload (LVVO) and mild Right Ventricular Outflow Tract Obstruction (RVOTO). To save his life, the doctor recommended open-heart surgery for VSD closure. However, Saim’s family was unable to pay for his surgery.
Saim lives in a rented home along with his parents and two siblings. His father, the sole breadwinner for the family, is a fruit seller and earns just PKR 26,000 per month. This income was insufficient to cover their house rent, utility bills, and children’s educational expenses. They faced immense financial hardships and couldn’t afford Saim’s life-changing heart surgery. During this time of despair, his family turned to Transparent Hands and asked for help. Moved by their plea, we registered his case.
On February 18, 2026, Saim was admitted to the Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore. The following day, Dr. Asim Khan corrected the defects in his heart after open heart surgey. The surgery went successfully, and Saim received proper post-operative care. On February 23, 2026, Saim was discharged in stable condition from the hospital.
Saim’s parents expressed their heartfelt gratitude as follows:
“Our child was suffering since birth, and it was heartbreaking to see him struggle for every breath. We felt completely helpless as we could not afford his treatment. After the surgery, we can finally see him recovering and smiling again. You have given our son a new life, and we will always remain grateful for your kindness and support.”
Today, Saim is recovering well and slowly gaining strength.
His family is deeply thankful to you and the PCHF for giving him a healthy future and a chance to have a happy childhood.
