You Relieved Ayesha’s Suffering with Laparotomy

Ayesha Javed's Story

Ayesha Javed, a 30-year-old woman from Lahore, had been suffering from pain in her lower abdomen, irregular menstrual cycles and frequent abdominal bloating. Her condition was not only physically exhausting but also emotionally draining, often leaving her confined to bed for days at a time. Concerned about her worsening health, she visited a doctor at a local hospital. After conducting an ultrasound scan and essential laboratory tests, her doctor diagnosed her with a right-sided ovarian cyst. To relieve her pain and prevent further health risks, the doctor recommended laparotomy for ovarian cyst removal, a surgical procedure to remove the cyst safely. However, the cost of this surgery was far beyond what Ayesha’s family could manage.

Ayesha lives in a modest home with her husband and their five young children. Her husband works as a daily wage laborer and earns only PKR 25,000 per month. This income must cover their food, utilities, and the children’s basic needs, leaving no room for expensive medical treatment. The family struggled to manage daily expenses, and the additional burden of a necessary surgery felt impossible to afford. During this difficult time, Ayesha contacted Transparent Hands. After listening to their concerns, we registered her case.

On October 21, 2025, Ayesha was admitted to Life Hospital, Lahore. The following day, Dr. Ayesha successfully performed her laparotomy and removed the ovarian cyst. She received post-operative care and was discharged in stable condition on October 24, 2025.
