You Saved Bahadur’s Life with Cardiac Surgery

Bahadur Khan's Story

Bahadur Khan, a 61-year-old man from Swat, was experiencing recurrent episodes of chest pain. Even mild to moderate physical activity caused shortness of breath. Despite receiving medical management for ischemic heart disease, his condition continued to worsen, leaving him unable to carry out basic daily activities. Concerned for his health, Bahadur received further evaluation at a local hospital. After undergoing coronary angiography, his doctors diagnosed him with Triple Vessel Coronary Artery Disease (TVCAD). This is a severe form of coronary artery disease in which the three major arteries supplying blood to the heart are narrowed or blocked due to atherosclerosis. To restore proper blood flow to his heart and prevent life-threatening complications, his doctor recommended Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG). Unfortunately, the cost of this critical surgery was far beyond his means.

Bahadur lives in a home he does not own and is currently unemployed due to his age and heart condition. His two sons work as daily wage laborers, earning a combined monthly income of only PKR 40,000. Supporting the household and affording life-saving medical treatment was impossible for the family. During this time of need, Bahadur reached out to Transparent Hands for assistance. Moved by his plea, we registered his case.

On September 17, 2025, Bahadur was admitted to Zia Darman Hospital in Mardan. Dr. Aamir Zeb successfully performed Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting on September 19, 2025. The surgery went smoothly, and Bahadur received careful post-operative monitoring. He was discharged in satisfactory condition on September 23, 2025.

Bahadur shared his gratitude as follows:
