You Saved Saad’s Life with Heart Surgery
Muhammad Saad's Story
Muhammad Saad, a 2-year-old boy from Chakwal, had been facing serious health challenges since birth. He suffered from shortness of breath and chest discomfort even after mild to moderate physical activity. These symptoms limited his ability to play, eat comfortably, and grow like other children of his age. Worried about his condition, Saad’s parents consulted a doctor at a local hospital. After undergoing a thorough examination and necessary tests, he was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot, a complex congenital heart defect involving four structural abnormalities of the heart. The doctor explained that without surgery, Saad’s condition could lead to serious complications, including delayed growth, poor oxygen supply to organs, and life-threatening risks. To correct the defects, the doctor recommended open angiography followed by open-heart surgery for total correction.
Unfortunately, the cost of the surgery was far beyond the family’s financial capacity. Muhammad Saad lives in a modest home with his parents and one sibling. His father is the sole provider, working as a driver and earning only PKR 30,000 per month. After covering essential household expenses such as utility bills, groceries, and basic needs, there was no way to afford the cardiac surgery required to save Saad’s life. During this challenging time, his family approached Transparent Hands, and Saad’s case was promptly registered.
On September 30, 2025, Muhammad Saad was admitted to the Ittefaq Hospital, Lahore. Dr. Asim Khan successfully performed the open-heart surgery for total correction on October 2, 2025. The surgery was smooth, and Saad received essential post-operative care. He was discharged in satisfactory condition on October 6, 2025.
Saad’s parents shared their emotions as follows:
“Before surgery, Saad’s life was filled with challenges. Every day brought worry and fear. With your support, he underwent heart surgery and is now stronger and healthier. We are grateful to you for saving his life and giving him a chance to grow and enjoy childhood like other children.”
Today, Muhammad Saad is recovering well at home. He can now enjoy the cherished moments of his childhood with his family. You and the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation (PCHF) made a valuable impact on Saad’s life.
