You Secured Farman’s Future Through Eye Surgery
Muhammad Farman's Story
Muhammad Farman, a 5-year-old boy from Muzaffargarh, was living with impaired vision that made everyday life difficult. Due to his poor eyesight, he struggled to recognize familiar faces, focus on objects, and move around with confidence. The eye condition affected his ability to learn, play, and interact with those around him. Worried about his condition, Farman’s family took him to a local hospital for an evaluation. After a detailed examination, the doctor diagnosed him with bilateral aphakia, a condition in which the eye does not have its natural lens, resulting in significantly reduced vision. Farman had previously undergone surgery on his left eye, during which a secondary intraocular lens (IOL) was implanted, leading to noticeable improvement in his vision. However, his right eye still required treatment. To improve his eyesight and support healthy visual development, the doctor recommended right-sided Secondary IOL surgery.
For Farman’s family, affording the surgery was impossible. His father works as a laborer and earns only PKR 30,000 per month. This modest income is used to meet the daily needs of the family, including food, and multiple household expenses. With no savings available for the eye surgery, his family reached out to Transparent Hands for support. Moved by their plea, we registered his case.
On June 3, 2026, Farman was admitted to the Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Hospital in Multan. His right-sided Secondary IOL surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Hassan Raza on June 4, 2026. During the procedure, an AcrySof intraocular lens was carefully implanted to improve vision in his right eye. After receiving post-operative care and observation, Farman was discharged in stable condition on the same day of surgery.
With hope for his son’s future, Farman’s father shared:
“Seeing my son struggle with his eyesight was one of the most difficult experiences for our family. We wanted him to receive treatment, but affording the surgery was beyond our means. Your support has changed his life. We are grateful for your kindness and generosity.”
Today, Farman is recovering well and adapting to the improvement in his vision. This surgery has brought new hope to his family and enabled him to learn, play, and grow with greater confidence.
Your generous support has made a meaningful difference in the life of a young child.
